WANTED: 2011-2012 VOLUNTEERS
The Friday fun lunch program raises a large amount of money for use in the school in a variety of ways. We will need volunteers who are able to assist with Friday fun lunches and the daily milk program in the 2011-2012 school year. Please leave your name in the office if you are available to help.
The Safe Arrival program is an invaluable tool for keeping our children safe. We are looking for volunteers to spend an hour and a half per week assisting us in this important task. If you would be available to volunteer one day a week from 9 am to 10:30 am or from 1:40 pm to 2:40 pm please leave your name with the office. Training is provided.
ALL SCDSB SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS NEED A VALID CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK
All SCDSB school volunteers are required to submit a valid criminal record check, with a vulnerable sector screening, completed within the previous six months, to the school office before they begin or continue to volunteer. Thank you to the many Algonquin Ridge volunteers who have already completed this requirement. If you wish to volunteer at more than one SCDSB school, list the schools on a seperate piece of paper and attach to your Criminal Police Check. If you require your original copy to be returned, please let the secretaries know and they will make a copy to be forwarded to the superintendent’s office. Criminal record checks are available from the Barrie City Police. The school will gladly provide a letter of introduction to any parent who is seeking a police check which will be done free of charge.
If you have already submitted a criminal record check, you will be notified in the fall when it is time to submit a new Offense Declaration 2011-2012 school year. Offence declarations are available at the school office. Please contact the school office with any questions. Current school volunteers do not require a new criminal record check for next year if they complete and submit an offence declaration.
